After some research on the net it did not take much deliberation to decide that the Savage was the best choice for me. But I live in Costa Rica, and thought it would be impossible to find one. However, I got lucky and found an '87 at a parts and service shop in San Jose, one of only 2 bikes for sale. So I bought it without much thought. I got 300 meters down the road and it died, stalled out at idle at a stoplight. Did not restart quickly, battery died right away, now its back at the shop. But my excitement is not dampened, and I hope to get it real soon and start enjoying cruising the beautiful mountain roads around here. I am very pleased to have found this board and all the great advice and tech help. Pura Vida!
